Postby Goody76 on Tue Feb 23, 2010 3:13 pm

Welcome to September... already, and the start of a late summer sunny spell by the looks of things.
So back to our usual monthly meets;
Monday 6th September - 8pm onwards - Golden Heart, Winterbourne, Bristol

Sunday 12th September - 9am onwards - Avenue Drivers Club, Queens Square, Bristol

*** Saturday 12th September - 10am - 5pm (people hoping to display their pride and joy at the show will need to be there by 9am) - Great Western Italian Day ***
*** between the National Trust Central Office, the Designer Outlet Shopping Centre and the STEAM Museum (details below) ***

Saturday 18th September - 10am onwards - Riders Breakfast, Bristol Ducati dealers - Riders

Monday 20th September - 8pm onwards - Castle Of Comfort, East Harptree, Mendips

You will see that I have included another date on Saturday 12th September. This is the Great Western Italian Day (GWID).
The Italian AutoMoto Club announces: GWID will return to a one-day format this year in Swindon on Sunday September 12th between 10am and 5pm. Display vehicles (all Italian cars, bikes and scooters are welcome), should arrive from 9am – 11 am. Placement will be on a 'first-come' basis.
The event will be located between the National Trust Central Office, the Designer Outlet Shopping Centre and the STEAM Museum, thus offering something for various interests in addition to the Italian machinery on display.

The Designer Outlet Shopping Centre has over 100 stores of all types plus various refreshment facilities, completely under cover within part of the Grade II-listed former Great Western Railway works.
STEAM is a fascinating museum devoted to the Great Western Railway. Not only is 2010 the 175th anniversary of the formation of the GWR but on our event day they are holding their Railway Festival, which will include a rare opportunity to see the British car which broke the Steam World Land Speed Record last year (139.8mph!), trade stalls, 14 model railway layouts, a traction engine and a real ale bar.
The National Trust Central Office will also be open throughout the day for attendees to visit their shop and café for breakfast, lunch and refreshments.
SatNav users should enter 'Kemble Drive, Swindon' as their destination.
Spectator parking is available opposite the event site at a small charge and also at other locations around the Outlet Centre.
Further information will appear on our website http://www.italianautomotoclub.co.uk Please contact 0117 947 5814 or IAMC@ourhemanpal.co.uk for information additional to that on the website.

I am thinking that anyone who is interested in attending (not displaying - as you would have to be there earlier) that we could do a little ride over together. May I suggest meeting at RIDERS Bristol at 9am (maybe grab a quick coffee and bacon butty) and then all take a nice leisurely ride over for the day, vias the A420, A4 and then into Swindon via the A4361…

I would like to gauge interest for this so please reply to let me know if anyone is interested in attending this event.

Also... please do not forget that our beloved Weston Bike Nights are still going strong, and due to the great reception they received last year they are pretty much on every Thursday evening this year, so if anyone is thinking of attending please feel free to drop me an email and I can let everyone know and we can hopefully arrange a meet up for a Ride-In together.

*In fact the weather has been great since the Bank Holiday Weekend so I will be taking a trip in the sunshine over to this weeks Weston Bike Night. As such if anyone is interested i will be at the petrol station on York Road at around 18:30hrs this evening ready to take a trip up the A370 to Weston. I will then also be stopping at Morrisons Petrol Station arounf 7'ish for anyone else who would like to join us - so we can all enjoy a nice ride in together (along with the essential portion of chips on the sea front). I hope to see some of you.*

Also I know I have been very busy with work and the Army so I have not had much time to organise any other little trips or ride outs, but please remember this is a democracy so feel free to recommend or organise anything yourselves simply just drop me a line and I will ensure it is emailed to the entire local group and we can take things from there, alternatively feel free to post it on the various Ducati Forums or my DOC SW Facebook page. So if ANYONE has any ideas for a Ride-Out, Day Out, or an event please feel free to let me know so that we can arrange for us all to get out in the sunshine on our 'Pride & Joys'.

So I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible during the month.

As you would have seen above Ducati is currently holding a nationwide tour to publicise the release of the the new multistrada 1200. Riders of Bristol will be hosting there launch on Saturday 6th March (there is also the chance to go up Friday evening for those of us that unfortunately can not make it on Saturday).
In my discussions with the staff of Riders they have kindly opened up this launch to Ducatisti of the area with the hope of getting a good decent sized ride in to the event. Riders have then said that they will then put on a Full-Day event, with food, entertainment, their usual test bikes and facilities, and some good level of promotions and discounts of parts services and merchandise.
This event will give us all the chance to see the Multistrada Touring version in the UK for the first time. The Multistrada 1200S Touring version features, as standard, electronically adjustable suspension, traction control, ABS as well as the more traditional accessories such as panniers, heated hand-grips and centre stand.
The much hailed Multistrada is already being talked about as a ‘bike of the year’ and is expected to draw huge interest across the country from Britain’s motorcyclists. The bike has already seen unprecedented amount of interest, sales enquiries and sales orders.
Therefore I am hoping that we can arrange a decent turn out with an agreed meet up followed by a ride-in into Riders, all eaquating to great day out. Please enter you interest below so that we can arrange this all properly

Please guys & gals, we are getting close to the weekend and Riders of Bristol have kindly offered to turn Saturdays New Multistrada launch into a full day event... but so far I have an exciting 3 man group for the Ride-In.

The Details; we will be meeting at the Longwell Green Cinema car park about 09:45am ready to leave at 10am and to therefore get to riders about 10:15ish.

I sincerely hope a few more of you can make it and show appreciation for our local Ducati Dealership.

It is great that you are involving the dealership, a report about a dealer team in next desmo, looks like it is happening, keep plugging away at it. (card in the post).

Good morning everyone and welcome to another month. I sincerely hope that you all had a great Easter Break and enjoyed those extra few days off work. Of course I am back once more with another great update of all the usual meets we ducatisti know and love;

Firstly our First Monday of the month meet has changed (this month only as it was Easter and alot of people were away for the weekend) - Monday 12th April - 8pm onwards - Golden Heart, Winterbourne, Bristol

Sunday 10th April - 9am onwards - Avenue Drivers Club, Queens Square, Bristol

Saturday 16th April - 10am onwards - Riders Breakfast, Bristol Ducati dealers - Riders

Monday 19th April - 8pm onwards - Castle Of Comfort, East Harptree, Mendips

*** THEN THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH ***

SATURDAY 24th APRIL - Bristol Italian AutoMoto Festival. Corn Street. Bristol. I am sure that most of you know the programme for this meet (for those forgetful ones out there though), I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on your Italian Steeds at Easton-In-Gordano Services anytime after 8:30am ready for regular Ride-In to the festival.

You will also be excited and glad to know that we will also have a very modest selection of Festival merchandise on sale this year (including the hotly anticipated BIAMF DVD). This can be found on the website (http://biamf.co.uk/regalia.html) and will be on sale at the Festival itself, with this in mind I hope you will all show your support of this new venture (preferably with a purchase or two).

So I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible during the month.

Weston Bike Night - European Night - 24/06/10

Postby Goody76 on Thu Jun 24, 2010 2:28 pm

Hello Everyone, so I hope you have all been making the most of this gorgeous weather we are having at the moment. Alas with work and other commitments I have not been able to make full use of it myself (even to the point of not being over to Weston Bike Night at all this year).

So in the hope of making the most of a little free time, and in support of WBN's European Night, I am finally attempting to make my way over to Weston this Thursday. Plans are as usual that we will meet in Bristol first - 18:15 hrs at the Esso garage on York Road (Out the back of Fowlers), from there we will leave and take a leisurely ride via the A370 to Weston-Super-Mare. As we come into Weston we will pull off into Morrisons petrol station to meet any Weston attendees (probably around 19:00 hrs), and then we will ride into the centre of town and down onto the waterfront.

Obviously this a little short Notice but this could not be helped, so please feel free to reply and let me know if you are coming (I don't want to be waiting around for too long if no one can actually make it).

I hope to see some of you and your fine Italian Steeds there... lets see if we can prodice a strong Italian/Ducati presence for European night.
